Terms of Use

1. What TarotByMe is

TarotByMe is an AI-assisted tarot reading platform. You ask a question, draw cards — using a regular deck you already have at home (via our correlation method), real Marseille Tarot cards, or online card selection — and our AI generates a personalized interpretation based on the cards and your question.

TarotByMe is an entertainment and self-reflection tool. Readings do not predict the future with certainty, do not constitute medical, psychological, legal, financial, or any other kind of professional advice, and do not replace guidance from qualified professionals. In case of serious emotional distress, a mental health crisis, or risk to life, seek professional help immediately — see Section 11 (Crisis Support) and, in Brazil, CVV (188).

Decisions and actions taken based on a reading or interpretation generated by the platform are entirely the user's own responsibility. TarotByMe does not determine choices, does not guarantee outcomes, and takes no responsibility for the consequences of decisions made based on a reading. Always follow your own values and your own judgment.

The user acknowledges and expressly consents that every interpretation is generated through automated artificial intelligence processing, based on the cards entered and the question asked, with no human intervention in the generated content. The system has no supernatural capabilities, does not access information about the user beyond what they themselves provide, and does not predict future events with certainty — it is a symbolic reading generated by AI, not a consultation with a human tarot reader.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, completing a reading, or subscribing to any TarotByMe plan, you state that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. If you disagree with any part of them, do not use the service.

3. Eligibility

The service is intended for people aged 18 or older. By signing up, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into contracts and that the information you provide is true.

4. Your Account

To use TarotByMe, you create an account with a name, email, and password. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately at contact@tarotbyme.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

Each account is for personal, non-transferable use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms — particularly Section 6 (Responsible Use) — proportionally to the severity of the violation, without prejudice to your refund rights under Section 5 for cases that do not involve fraud or illegal use.

5. Credits, Payment, and Access

TarotByMe runs on credits: each reading uses a number of credits depending on the spread you choose (between 2 and 10 credits), always shown before you confirm. Every plan gives access to every spread type — what differs between plans is the amount of credits and the validity rules below.

One-time plans (single purchase): credits are valid for 60 days from the purchase date. Monthly subscription plans: credits renew every month and are non-cumulative — unused credits do not carry over to the next month.

Subscription cancellation: can be requested at any time from your account dashboard. After cancellation, access remains active until the end of the period already paid for, with no further charges. Refunds: your first purchase can be fully refunded within 7 days of activation, provided no reading has been confirmed during that period — the refund window closes once the first reading is confirmed, since that is the moment credits are actually spent.

6. Responsible Use

You agree not to use the platform to:

• —Share, resell, or transfer access to your account to third parties
• —Attempt to compromise the security, stability, or integrity of the system
• —Submit questions or content intended to cause harm to yourself or others
• —Use generated interpretations as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions, in place of a qualified professional
• —Use bots, scraping, or any other automated means to collect data or content from the platform
• —Attempt to decompile, reverse-engineer, or otherwise extract the platform's source code, AI prompts, or card-correlation methodology
• —Impersonate any person or entity, or use the platform for fraudulent or illegal purposes

Violating this Section may result in the suspension or termination of your account, as described in Section 4.

7. Content You Submit and Sharing Readings

Card photos (Regular Deck): if you choose to photograph your physical cards for automatic recognition, the image is sent directly to our AI provider (OpenAI) solely to identify the photographed cards — TarotByMe does not store these photos on its servers.

Sharing readings: you can generate a public link to share a specific reading. Anyone with access to the link can view the reading's content (question, cards, and interpretation), even without a TarotByMe account. The link stays active until you hide the corresponding reading from your history. You are solely responsible for the decision to share and for the consequences of third parties accessing that content.

8. Personal Data Processing

In line with applicable data protection law (in Brazil, the LGPD — Law 13,709/2018), we inform you that:

• —Unlike a disposable consultation, your question, the cards drawn, and the interpretation generated are the reading you paid to receive — so they're saved to your history for the period described in Section 5 and detailed in our Privacy Policy.
• —You can hide any reading from your history at any time from your dashboard, without affecting the financial record of the purchase.
• —Account data (name, email) and payment data are processed as necessary to perform the contracted service.
• —You can request access, correction, portability, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing contact@tarotbyme.com.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the platform — including text, prompts, our card-correlation methodology, design, and software — is the exclusive property of TarotByMe and protected by law. Reproduction, copying, or redistribution without prior written authorization is prohibited.

10. Limitation of Liability

TarotByMe is an AI-powered entertainment and self-reflection tool. Generated interpretations do not constitute a factual prediction of the future nor professional advice of any kind. Any decision made based on a reading must be evaluated using the user's own judgment, who assumes full responsibility for their choices — the AI does not guarantee certainty, accuracy, or any kind of outcome. The TarotByMe platform is not responsible for the choices, decisions, or consequences arising from the use of its readings. Our liability is limited to the amount paid, prorated to the period in which any service failure occurs.

This limitation does not exclude or reduce rights that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including those under Brazil's Consumer Protection Code (Law 8,078/1990), nor does it apply to damages caused by TarotByMe's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from reasonable damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the platform in violation of these Terms, including fraudulent or illegal use.

11. Crisis Support

TarotByMe is not a crisis support service and does not replace professional care. Even so, when a question submitted to the platform indicates a possible risk to life or self-harm, the system automatically shows a notice with support information appropriate to your region — instead of proceeding normally with the reading — before letting you continue.

In Brazil, CVV (Centro de Valorização da Vida) offers free support by phone at 188, 24 hours a day. If you are in immediate danger, call 190 (Police) or 192 (SAMU), or go to the nearest emergency room.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 15 days in advance. Continued use of the platform after that period implies acceptance of the new terms.

13. General Provisions

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

TarotByMe's failure to enforce strict performance of any provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

You may not assign or transfer these Terms to a third party. TarotByMe may assign these Terms freely, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TarotByMe regarding use of the platform, superseding any prior understandings on the same subject.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of São Paulo/SP, Brazil, with the parties waiving any other jurisdiction, however privileged it may be.
